Companies donate to park project
Two major companies in Swindon have pledged money to restore Lydiard Park.

The cash boost comes from Stratton-based BMW and the computer chip company Intel, based in Old Town.

Their money brings the locally donated funding to more than 250,000. A Heritage Lottery fund grant of 3m is due to be confirmed in the New Year.

The aim of the project is to restore the lake which lays at the bottom of the lawn and upgrade visitor amenities on the 260-acre site.
