Timetable promises better service
First Great Western train
The company says this is "radical restructuring"
Train company First Great Western's new timetable began on Sunday, which it says will mean quicker journeys and "significant benefits".

The company is linking its First Great Western Link services between London and the West Country with its general First services.

An earlier morning train from Bristol to London and later evening services to and from Wales are amongst the changes.

Full details of the new service can be found on the company's website.

The company says: "This will be the most radical restructuring of services into London Paddington for more than a decade."

First Great Western is promising:

  • New trains on some Oxford and North Cotswold services, bringing InterCity status to the route.

  • More and faster services to the West Country

  • Segregation of most inner and outer Thames Valley services to increase capacity

  • Enhanced services to the Kennet Valley
