A slice of Prince Charles and Lady Diana's wedding cake has been sold for £540 at auction.

The 23-year-old slice of royal history went under the hammer at Dominic Winter Book Auctions in Swindon.

It is still in its original presentation box decorated with silver Prince of Wales feathers.

Experts had predicted the cake would sell for between £500 and £800. A similar lot sold for £520, two years ago.
