A man quizzed over the disappearance of 21-year-old Amanda Edwards was found dead as her body was discovered on a Wiltshire building site, police said.
Police have called off the search for Amanda, a nursery care assistant from Swindon, who had been missing for more than a week.
Ian Cortis, 48, questioned for four days but released without charge, was found dead at a house in Calne.
Police believe a body at the building site near Malmesbury is Amanda.

Det Ch Supt Paul Howlett said he had visited the family who were "devastated".
"The circumstances lead us to believe we have found Amanda's body," he said.
The coroner for Wiltshire has been informed and the results of a post-mortem examination are awaited on Saturday.
Floral tributes are being placed at The Knoll, the building site where Amanda's body was found,
One reads: "Dearest Amanda we love you. From Sandra and all the girls at Little Foxes Nursery School."
'Thank you'
Another bunch of flowers has a label saying: "Amanda our wonderful and beautiful friend who was always so full of sweetness and light.
"Thank you for caring for our son. Always in our hearts, Nikki, Paul and Lewis."
The body of Mr Cortis was discovered at a house in Woodsage Way, Calne. He was reported to have been found hanged.
A police spokesman said there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
The married father-of-two was a plasterer who is said to have worked at the building site.
A police statement said: "We can confirm that this is the same man who was earlier released without charge after being arrested and questioned in connection with the disappearance of missing woman, Amanda Edwards,"
Wiltshire Police have voluntarily referred the matter to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) who will supervise an investigation into his death.
Det Ch Supt Howlett said the police inquiry into Amanda's disappearance and death would remain active .
"There are still further lines of inquiry that need to be completed so in the meantime I'm not in a position to complete the investigation."
