Chicken factory jobs to be lost

About 130 jobs are expected to go with the introduction of new technology at a chicken processing factory in Wiltshire.

Public demand for cheaper prices meant increased pressure for delivering value for money.

Chairman and chief executive Robin Faccenda announced details of a multi-million pound investment programme in state-of-the-art automation technology.

He said this would improve cost efficiency and flexibility.

Investments would also be made in new chillers and computer software.
