Chicken factory jobs to be lost
About 130 jobs are expected to go with the introduction of new technology at a chicken processing factory in Wiltshire.

Faccenda says the re-structuring affecting its plant at Sutton Benger is necessary to cut costs.

The company says it needs to make savings in an increasingly competitive market.

Public demand for cheaper prices meant increased pressure for delivering value for money.

Chairman and chief executive Robin Faccenda announced details of a multi-million pound investment programme in state-of-the-art automation technology.

He said this would improve cost efficiency and flexibility.

Investments would also be made in new chillers and computer software.
