A major £150m redevelopment in Swindon town centre has been given the go-ahead, after a year of discussion.
Outline planning permission for the development to the Brunel shopping centre was granted last January.
But agreement was finally reached on the plan between the borough council and the developer Westfield, on Friday.
The plans include a new shopping area with more than 100 new shops, a new multi-storey car park, new food complexes and a 10-screen cinema.
A total of £5m has been earmarked in the plans to improve pedestrian streets and cycle routes.
The development is due for completion in 2007.
