Round trip for town's calendar
Swindon's roundabout calendar
Orders have been received from Australia and the USA
A printing company has turned Swindon's traffic roundabouts into a surprise hit.

BB Print Digital, based in Redditch, Worcestershire, sold nearly 2,000 copies of a calendar showing that town's "most attractive" road features.

Originally devised as a joke, the calendar has now become a cult classic with the company even receiving orders from Australia and the United States.

Now the company wants to continue its surprise success with a calendar featuring roundabouts in the Wiltshire town of Swindon.

'Tourist information'

The company also markets calendars of Milton Keynes, Bolton, Slough and Grimsby.

Kevin Beresford, of BB Print, said: "Swindon's got the magic roundabout and when we did Redditch last year a lot of people phoned us up from Swindon and suggested we should do that as well.

"We took our first order from a chap in Melbourne, Australia today - an ex-pat who used to live in Swindon.

"We've also had an order for 100 from the town's tourist information office."

Production manager Jason Holmes said the calendars were originally devised as a publicity gimmick.

"It's hard to believe that photos of roundabouts in Redditch could cause such a stir, but they appear to have put the town on the map," he said.
