Motorcyclist dies in Swillington sign post crash

A motorcyclist was killed when he lost control of his bike and crashed into a sign post in a West Yorkshire village.

The 35-year-old man, from Morley, was riding along Wakefield Road in Swillington, near Leeds, when the crash happened at 1940 BST on Wednesday.

Police said he died at the scene and have appealed for witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Wakefield Road was closed for five hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
