The latest pictures of the new Morley Leisure Centre, which is due to open this summer, have been released by Leeds City Council.

The new centre on Scatcherd Park is nearing completion as part of a joint £33m project which includes another new centre at Armley.

Morley is the larger of the two new centres, with a swimming pool, gym, sports halls, dance studio and a cafe.

The new gym is set to become the largest council-run gym in the city.

Leeds City Council executive member for leisure John Procter said: "Just like the new centre at Armley this one at Morley is coming along fantastically well.

"You can really get a feel for how they are going to look when they are finished and we are counting down the weeks until the doors open and everyone can come in and see them.

"These two new centres are going to be fantastic additions to our leisure centre provision here in Leeds, giving us state-of-the-art new facilities which any city in the world would be proud of having."
