Inquiries have started into the cause of a house fire in Leeds in which an 81-year-old woman died.

Crews were called to the fire at Outgang Lane in the Bramley area just after 0215 GMT on Sunday.

A fire service spokeswoman said crews had rescued the woman from the house and she was given medical treatment at the scene. She later died in hospital.

Police said the fire was not believed to be suspicious at this stage, but investigations were continuing.
