Job losses as travel agent folds

A West Yorkshire travel agent with offices in Leeds and Huddersfield has gone into administration with the loss of 19 jobs.

Kunapark Ltd blamed the economic downturn, and fewer people taking holidays, for the decision.

Customers who booked trips through the firm have been advised to contact their airline or tour operator.

The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) said it was unlikely their holidays would be affected.

The company had around 7,000 forward bookings when trading stopped, ABTA said.

'Bookings honoured'

Kunapark, which also traded as Flydeals, Luxury Holiday Maker and Hot4Holidays, offered holidays to a number of European destinations, including Tenerife, Majorca, Menorca, and the Algarve.

An ABTA spokeswoman said: "The good news is the bookings will have been made through the airline or tour operators, so they should be honoured.

"We are aware that some customers have not got details of their bookings from Kunapark, and this is something the company is trying to sort out.

"The holidays of those people who are away at the moment should continue as normal."
