The boys from Leeds show off their skills

A group of boys from Leeds have wowed judges at an international cheerleading competition in Coventry.

The Peewee Boyz, who are thought to be the only cheerleading boys in Europe, won third prize at the International Cheer Championships in July.

The boys moved onto cheerleading after doing hip hop and street dance.

The group, aged between nine and 11, are part of a dance charity, Dazl, set up in 2000 to improve health of young people in South Leeds.

The troupe's teacher, Ian Rodley, 26, said the boys enjoyed the pom pom work.

"The boys are more into the poms than the girls," he joked.
