Driver held over M1 death crash

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a lorry driver was killed in a crash on the M1 motorway near Leeds.

A Fiat Punto hit the central barrier on the southbound carriageway, at junction 46 near Colton, just before 0130 BST.

A lorry behind the Punto was then hit by another HGV. The driver of the second vehicle suffered fatal injuries.

A stretch of the motorway was closed in both directions after the crash but has since reopened.
