Heroin deaths prompt user search

Heroin being used
There are fears others may have used the same contaminated batch

Police investigating three heroin deaths in 24 hours across Bradford are trying to trace other people who could have used drugs from the same batch.

The body of a man in his 20s was found in the Leeds Road area on Friday morning. Later in the day a man in his 40s was discovered at a house in Wyke.

And on Saturday afternoon, a man in his 40s was also found dead in Girlington.

A fourth man, from Shipley, is critically ill in hospital. Police believe the heroin was contaminated.

Chief Inspector Paul Hepworth of West Yorkshire Police told BBC News: "We have been speaking to lots of people.

"We are asking our partner agencies to tell us what's going on. It's vital we find that information link."

Anyone with information about contaminated drugs or drug dealers is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police or Crimestoppers, confidentially if necessary.
