Footballer in drink drive charge

Fabian Delph
Delph has come through the Leeds academy

Leeds United and England under-21 player Fabian Delph has been charged with drink driving.

Police said a 19-year-old man from Tadcaster, North Yorkshire was arrested in Rothwell, Leeds last Tuesday and subsequently charged with the offence.

He is due to appear before the city's magistrates next month.

The midfielder scored the second goal in the club's win at Stockport on Sunday. He made his debut with the England under-21s last month.

The player signed his first professional two-and-a-half year contract with Leeds in January this year after coming up from the ranks of the club's training academy.
