Armed thieves target cash guard

Armed robbers dressed as builders forced a security guard to open a cash box in broad daylight before fleeing with the money in Leeds.

The two thieves, dressed in fluorescent jackets and wearing hard hats and dust masks, confronted the guard on North Lane in the Headingley area on Friday.

The guard was outside the One Stop Shop when the men approached him.

West Yorkshire Police said a Jeep Cherokee used by the men was found on fire in the Burley area of the city.
