Appeal over man struck by train

Police trying to identity a man who died after being hit by a train in Leeds are appealing for information.

The man, thought to be in his mid 20s, was struck by the train at Wortley Road bridge, near to Bramley Railway Station on Friday evening.

Sgt Saeed Ahmad, of the British Transport Police, said: "We are making extensive enquiries to identify the victim and appeal to the public."

Police said they are not treating the death as suspicious.

The train was travelling from Huddersfield to Leeds when the incident happened.
