A murder investigation has been launched after a man who was shot in the head by masked gunmen at his home in Leeds died.

Three men wearing balaclavas and camouflage clothing stormed into the property at Clifton Mount in the Harehills area on Tuesday.

The victim, 20, died at Leeds General Infirmary on Thursday morning.

Police said a woman who was with the men knocked on several doors in the area before the shooting

Detectives said they were particularly anxious to trace the woman who was asking for "Michelle".

Det Supt Steve Payne said: "It may be that this person was not aware of the seriousness of the incident and I ask that she come forward and assist the investigation."

She is described as white, aged 25 to 28, 5ft 6in (1.7m) tall, with dark shoulder length hair and a black headband.
