Man dies after restaurant attack

Five men have been arrested in West Yorkshire after a man who was stabbed in a restaurant kitchen died.

Police said the victim, in his 40s, suffered a stab wound to his stomach at the Indian Palace on Smyth Street in Wakefield at 0115 BST.

The man was taken to Pinderfield Hospital but died of his injuries.

Detectives are now questioning the men aged between 33 and 45 years in connection with the incident. Police are appealing for information.

Four of the suspects were taken into custody on Sunday morning, the fifth a few hours later.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said an assault took place before the man died. Anyone with information should contact detectives.
