A 13-year-old boy who stabbed a fellow pupil at school has admitted wounding the teenager.
The defendant, who cannot be named, was arrested after an incident at a secondary school in Leeds in February.
Paramedics were called to the school and a 14-year-old boy, who also cannot be named, was found with knife wounds to his chest and stomach.
The 13-year-old pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful wounding at Leeds Crown Court.
He also pleaded guilty to another charge of having a bladed article on school premises.
The case was not opened and few details of the incident were given in court.
The judge adjourned the case until 6 June so reports on the defendant could be prepared.
