Two held in benefit fraud probe

Two people have been arrested by officers investigating benefit fraud in West Yorkshire.

Police said officials, working with the Department of Work and Pensioners (DWP), detained the pair from Dewsbury Moor on Monday morning.

The pair are from the same estate where schoolgirl Shannon Matthews went missing in February.

But a police spokesman said: "The arrests are not related to an alleged abduction of a nine-year-old girl."

Shannon vanished on 19 February after failing to return to her home on the estate from school in Dewsbury. She was found safe and well on 14 March.

A DWP spokeswoman said they could not comment on individual cases.
