Abductor drags children into car
Two children were dragged into the back of a car by a man who snatched them from a play area in Wakefield.

Detectives said the seven-year-old boy and nine-year-old girl managed to open the car door and run away after being driven for nearly a mile.

They had been pulled into a red car from a play area in Painthorpe Lane, Crigglestone, on Friday night.

The youngsters were unhurt but distressed by their ordeal. Police have appealed for witnesses.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said minutes before the abduction, the young girl spoke to a woman, asking her what time it was.

He said: "Police need to speak to this lady and we would ask her to contact us."
