Ram-raid gang steals cash machine
Scene of the raid
Students arrive at the boarded-up entrance after the raiders struck
Thieves used a stolen Jeep to ram-raid a student accommodation block and steal a free-standing cash machine in Leeds.

Four men, two armed, used the car to knock over the machine in the reception area of the Kirkstall Brewery student accommodation on Broad Lane, Bramley.

As the gang was putting the machine into the vehicle two of the men threatened security staff with guns in the early hours of Monday.

The Jeep was found on Armley Ridge Road. The cash machine was missing.

Det Insp Scott Wood said: "This is a worrying robbery because there are a large amount of people resident in this complex, any of whom could have become innocently caught up in this raid.

"Thankfully no one was injured - however, the use of firearms and a large vehicle in this manner could have resulted in injury.

"I would welcome any information about this crime, whether it's from a witness at the scene, someone who has seen the stolen Jeep in the last couple of weeks or anyone who hears mention of this crime in the coming days or weeks."
