Police hunting a masked gang armed with swords who robbed a bingo hall in Leeds have arrested two men.

Three men threatened staff at Mecca Bingo in Balm Road, Hunslet, on Sunday evening before taking an unknown amount of cash.

About 300 players were in the building at the time. No one was injured.

The men, aged 23 and 30, are being questioned. A car thought to have been used in the robbery has been seized from the Belle Isle area of the city.

A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the arrests resulted from calls received from members of the public after an appeal and the release of CCTV images of the robbery on Monday.
