Burnt man died from head injuries
Investigators search the woodland
The woodland has been cordoned off while investigations continue
A man whose body was found burning in woodland in Leeds was killed by several heavy blows to the head, police said.

Christopher Elliott, 39, is believed to have been abducted from his Bramley flat on Monday. His body was later found in Ravenscar Walk in Roundhay.

Police said they found bloodstains at Mr Elliott's flat in Borrowdale Crescent after receiving reports of his possible abduction.

Two men arrested in connection with the inquiry remain in custody.

Mr Elliott, who was also known as Chalky, was a full-time carer to his father and had a 20-year-old son.

Det Supt Bill Shackleton said extensive enquiries were under way and appealed to anyone with information to contact police.

"As a result of forensic enquiries a vehicle has been recovered and forensically examined," he said.

"The search of a house in Roundhay is also under way involving police and forensic science service specialists."
