Homes evacuated in cylinder fire
Several homes were evacuated in West Yorkshire overnight following a fire involving a gas cylinder.

Firefighters were called to reports of two sheds on fire in Radcliffe Road in Lupset, Wakefield, in the early hours of Friday.

Crews discovered that one of the sheds contained an acetylene cylinder and evacuated four houses as a precaution.

It is expected that crews will remain at the scene cooling down the cylinder until late on Friday night.

People removed from their homes were assisted by the Red Cross Fire Victim Support Unit.

Acetylene is a colourless and extremely flammable gas, sometimes used for welding and cutting.
