The lead singer of an up-and-coming rock band died after an acrobatic leap from the stage went wrong.
Patrick Sherry was performing with his band Bad Beat Revue at the Warehouse in Leeds when he fell, sustaining fatal head and back injuries.
Mr Sherry, of Silsden, West Yorkshire, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary after the accident on 20 July but died the next day.
An inquest into his death will open at Leeds Coroner's Court on Tuesday.
Mr Sherry, described as an energetic performer in previous reviews of the band, was playing as part of the regular Club NME night at the Somers Street venue.
NME's editor Conor McNicholas said: "We are extremely saddened to hear of this tragic accident.
"Our deepest condolences go out to Patrick's family and friends."
