Police search Germaine Lindsey's house in Aylesbury
The man thought to be responsible for the deadliest of the London attacks had spent his teenage years in West Yorkshire like his fellow bombers.

It has emerged that Jamaican-born Germaine Lindsay, 19, suspected of the Russell Square tube bombing, had lived in Huddersfield.

He had moved there in 1999 with his mother and sister and only moved away two years ago.

Former classmates at Rawthorpe High School have spoken of their shock.

The other three bombers originally came from Leeds, although one recently moved to Dewsbury.

'Normal people'

Communities in Huddersfield have been coming to terms with the revelation that Germaine had lived in the area.

One former schoolfriend said: "I did not believe it at first. I was so shocked that a friend of mine could do that. It's outrageous."

Another classmate said: "They were just normal, everyday people. It's just so shocking that he could be involved in something like this."

A former neighbour said: "He was quiet. Strange, but quiet. He was not like your everyday, normal young boy on the estate."

He added: "The kids all socialise with one another, he did not socialise with anyone around here."

Religious conversion

Germaine changed his name to Jamal Lindsay and began attending after-school classes to improve his knowledge of Islam.

The family left the area in 2003, but neighbours did not know where they had moved to.

Since the bombings police have learned that Lindsey was living at a house in Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire which officers have been searching since Wednesday.

Three three other bombers were; Shehzad Tanweer and Hasib Hussain, from Beeston, Leeds, and Mohammed Sidique Khan who had been living in Dewsbury.
