Yorkshire Terrier Emmie died after a road accident
A 19-year-old has been charged with outraging public decency in connection with the death of a dog.

The Yorkshire Terrier, Emmie, was thought to have had fireworks tied to its body before being found near its home in Huddersfield on 27 October.

A post mortem examination later showed the dog's fatal injuries had been caused in a road accident.

The 19-year-old is due to appear before Huddersfield Magistrates' Court on 30 December.

A 16-year-old boy, who was also arrested and bailed following the dog's death, has been reprimanded for outraging public decency.
