Remembrance services have taken place across the Yorkshire and Humber region in memory of those who have died in conflict since World War I.

In Leeds, the Lord Mayor joined hundreds to lay wreaths at the Victoria Gardens war memorial before a salute and march past at the Civic Hall.

In Sheffield, the Lord Mayor watched a parade of veterans at the city war memorial at Barker's Pool.

The Lord Mayors of York and Hull led similar events in their cities.

In Grimsby, a service was held in St James' Church followed by a procession to the war memorial.

Leeds' Lord Mayor Bill Hyde said: "It's important young people learn about the men and women who fought to give them freedom.

"As Lord Mayor I am honoured to lead the city's tribute to those who have died in war and armed conflict over the last 90 years."
