A group of girl guides from Leeds are set to build on their personal skills by going on a course to learn the art of bricklaying.
Two dozen guides are taking part in a BLinG [building links in guiding] day in an effort to tempt more girls into the construction industry.
On Friday the guides will visit a construction site to see the business of building at close quarters.
Then they will get the chance to lay bricks at the city's building school.
Leeds City Council's executive member for learning Councillor Richard Harker said: " Events like these are a great way of offering young women in Leeds the chance to see for themselves what the construction industry has to offer.
"This is hugely valuable as it can help show the diverse range of jobs available for young women in what has traditionally been seen as a male-dominated industry.
"We are very pleased to be supporting the event for the second year."
