Pair rescued from bedroom blaze

Two women have been rescued from a fire at a house in West Yorkshire.

The fire started in the bedroom of the property on Broadway in the Lupset area of Wakefield on Friday night, firefighters said.

The two women were rescued from the house by firefighters while a third was led away by neighbours.

All three were taken by ambulance to Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke, the fire service said.
