Closure warning for problem pubs
Pub managers in West Yorkshire who fail to control violence on their premises face being closed down, police say.
Three pubs in the region have already been forced to close temporarily under anti-social behaviour laws and police are warning more could follow.
Assistant Chief Constable Grahame Maxwell said they were called to some problem pubs on an almost weekly basis.
The force was not prepared to put up with repeated incidents of violence and disorder, he added.
Five arrested in drugs raids
Several people were arrested and class A drugs confiscated during police raids in West Yorkshire.
A 17-year-old youth and an 18-year-old male were arrested in Banstead Park, Leeds, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply the drugs.
Police found 24 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine at the address.
Another two youths, aged 17 and 18, and a 39-year-old man were arrested during similar raids in other areas of the city as part of Operation Crackdown.
