Former football star arrested

Terry Yorath, the former Leeds United and Wales international footballer, has been arrested on suspicion of being over the drink-drive limit.

A blue Jaguar was in collision with a female pedestrian on Harrogate Road in Moor Allerton, Leeds, about 2040 BST on Thursday, police said.

Mr Yorath is currently the assistant manager at newly-promoted Huddersfield Town football club.

The 54-year-old has been released on police bail.

The woman was a stable condition in hospital, West Yorkshire Police said.
