Girl, nine, dies in road accident

A nine-year old girl has been killed after colliding with a tipper lorry as she pushed her bike across a road in West Yorkshire.

The incident happened at about 1710 BST on Monday on Cornwall Road, at its junction with Bradford Road, in the Stockbridge area of Keighley.

The girl, who was local to the area, was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Airedale General Hospital.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
