Children treated after bus crash
Twenty eight pupils were taken to hospital after their school bus was involved in a crash in Leeds.

The accident happened on Middleton Lane at Thorpe-on-the-Hill, near Rothwell, at around 0900 GMT on Wednesday when the bus was in collision with a car.

The First double-decker was on its way to Rodillian School near Lofthouse on the outskirts of the city.

Head teacher John Barrett said some pupils had suffered minor injuries and others were undergoing checks.

"Pupils remained calm and sensible," Mr Barrett continued.

He also praised the help given by the West Yorkshire Metropolitan Ambulance Service.
