Four men have been jailed for life after a man was abducted from his home in front of his family and beaten to death with a sledgehammer.

Brian Keating, 37, was taken from his home in Monkhill Lane in Pontefract on 15 October 2002 and his body dumped in St Mark's churchyard in the Woodhouse area of Leeds.

Brothers Jaspal Khosa, 26, of Middleton in Leeds, and 29-year Jetinder Khosa of Beeston, Leeds were found guilty of the murder and kidnap of Mr Keating.

Rudolph Berkeley, 31, of Ireland Wood in Leeds and 33-year-old Daniel McGowan of Morley, Leeds were also convicted of the same charges at Leeds Crown Court.

Former friend

Another Khosa brother, Balder, pleaded guilty to kidnap and was jailed for 10 years.

Police say the motive for the murder of former boxer Brian Keating was unclear.

But Mr Keating himself had been awaiting trial for allegedly planning to murder a former friend.

Shortly before his death he was filmed on CCTV fighting in a bar with Balder Khosa.
