Police forces will benefit from the cash boost
Police forces in Yorkshire and the Humber region are to benefit from more than £2m of government cash to improve their buildings.

West, North and South Yorkshire along with Humberside Police will receive a total of £2.084m.

The extra cash, coming from Whitehall's Premises Improvement Fund, will mean improvements to Bridlington and Beverley stations, a new station at Scunthorpe West and new offices for North Yorkshire Police.

Doncaster's College Road station will be refurbished and West Yorkshire's command units will benefit from new briefing accommodation.

The cash is part of £20m spread across England and Wales to finance schemes which help police officers work more effectively with upgrades to the workplace and facilities.

Video suites for vulnerable witnesses, information technology upgrades and forensic science support will all benefit from the cash injection.
