Gang shoot father at home

There appears to be no motive for the attack

A 38-year-old father is recovering in hospital after being shot in the leg and beaten with a baseball bat in his own home.

The attack in Daleside Walk, West Bowling, Bradford, happened while the man's seven-year-old son was asleep in bed upstairs.

A police spokesman said four masked men assaulted the victim with a bat before shooting him twice in the left leg.

The injured man was taken to hospital after the attack at 2345 BST on Saturday and remains in a stable condition.

He is due to undergo an operation on Tuesday to remove a bullet from his leg.

Police said there appears to be no motive for the attack.

Four men arrested near to the scene shortly after the assault have been released on police bail.
