Fire officers said it was one of the worst house fires they had seen
Five men arrested in connection with a house fire which killed a six-year-old boy and his mother have been released on bail.

The men were bailed pending further inquiries after Denise Clough, 38, and her son Mark died in the blaze at their semi-detached house in Broadstone Way, Bradford, on Tuesday.

The investigation is continuing and the five, aged between 17 and 23, will return to a police station to answer bail at a later date.

They were arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday.

Detective superintendent Alan Doherty said he wanted people who had witnessed an argument outside Mrs Clough's house on Saturday to come forward.

"At this stage we do not know if the incident is connected to the fire but we would like anyone who has information about either incident to come forward and speak to us," he said.

Detectives are also looking for the drivers of a number of vehicles which passed the fire and may have stopped to help.

Two of Mrs Clough's other children escaped the blaze.

One senior fire officer said it was one of the worst house fires he had seen in 30 years of service.
