Arrests over Aston Villa and Millwall youth cup trouble

Thirteen people have been arrested after two men were hurt following an FA Youth Cup game in Birmingham.

The injured men, in their 40s, were found in Aston Lane, Birmingham, following the game between Aston Villa and Millwall at Villa Park on Friday.

One man was attacked with a bottle. Police said they believed it to be racially motivated.

The arrested men, from the London area, were found in a minibus in Witton Lane after the attack.

Coach park

Police were called to Aston Lane, at Wenlock Road, just after 2030 GMT to reports of disorder.

They found two men who had been attacked. A 41-year-old suffered bruising while a 42-year-old had cuts to his head.

The arrested men, aged between 20 and 40, were in a minibus which was outside the Aston Villa coach park.

Police are looking for anyone who may have seen the attack or a minibus, a white transit van with Premier Travel Services written on it, being driven around the Aston area between 2000 and 2100 GMT.
