Man discovered dead in house fire in Stirchley

A man has been found dead after fire crews were called to a house fire in the Stirchley area of Birmingham.

Firefighters were called at 1612 GMT to Harvest Close, where a two-storey end-of-terrace house was alight.

About 12 firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the house, and discovered the body of an unidentified man.

A fire investigation team and West Midlands Police were investigating the cause of the fire.
