The family of a 50-year-old man who died after being shot in a West Midlands nightclub have paid tribute to him.

Danny "Dannyman" McCalla, from Dudley, was shot at Tropical Harmony Nightclub in Bilston at 0430 GMT on Saturday. Three men were arrested and bailed.

His family said the father-of-three was a "loving, kind and fair person".

"He was a real people's person who affected everybody's life in a good way," their statement said.

The family added that Mr McCalla was educated and peaceful and "he loved music and he loved life".

A second man was injured in the nightclub incident after suffering "some sort of blow", police said.

West Midlands Police begun a murder investigation following the death of Mr McCalla and arrested the three men on Sunday. They were later released on bail as inquiries continued.

Officers want to hear from anyone who was in the nightclub at the time of the shooting or who had any information about it.
