Nightclub shooting victim named

A 50-year-old man who died after being shot in a West Midlands nightclub at the weekend has been named by police.

Danny "Dannyman" McCalla, from Dudley, was shot at Tropical Harmony Nightclub in Bilston early on Saturday.

A second man injured on the night was not shot as originally feared, but suffered an injury following "some sort of blow", West Midlands Police added.

Two out of three men from the Black Country who were arrested have been bailed pending further investigation.

One man, aged 29, who was arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.

A 36-year-old held on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender has been bailed pending further investigation along with a 34-year-old man.

He was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to wound and perverting the course of justice.

The three men were arrested on Sunday.

The shooting happened at about 0430 BST on Saturday.

Police said it was believed there were about 50 people in the club at the time of the incident.

The injured man has been recovering in hospital.
