Student's death 'was not murder'

A 19-year-old university student found dead with a knife wound in Birmingham was not murdered, police have said.

Paramedics found the University of Birmingham student's body at a house in Alton Road, Selly Oak, just before 1900 GMT on Friday.

A post-mortem examination found the man died from a knife wound but police said it appeared to be a "tragic accident".

Officers at first treated the death as suspicious but have now ruled out the possibility of murder.
