Four boys killed as car hits wall

Accident scene
Ambulance crews said the four boys died at the scene

Four boys died when the car they were travelling in hit a wall in Birmingham.

Emergency crews were called to Salisbury Road, in Moseley, at about 0345 GMT.

Paramedics said all four boys, three of whom were 17, 15 and 16, died at the crash scene. The age of the fourth has still to be confirmed.

Officers said a police car that had been in the area at the time was flagged down by a member of the public. They urged that person to come forward.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said the blue Rover car the boys had been travelling in was not believed to be stolen.

The road was reopened, following work to remove the car, at about 1330 GMT.

Police officers urged anyone who saw the crash to contact them.
