CCTV of the incident
Police urged anyone who recognised the man to contact them

Detectives investigating an attack in which a taxi driver was racially abused and his cab was vandalised have released CCTV images of the incident.

The 54-year-old taxi driver was abused in the incident, by the junction of Birmingham New Road and Walton Road, in Wolverhampton, on 16 August.

He was told to pull over and after asking for the fare, the driver was racially abused.

The taxi windscreen was smashed with a brick and the man left without paying.

Pc Sarah Smyth, of West Midlands Police, said it had been a "vicious and unprovoked" attack.

She urged anyone who recognised the man in the CCTV footage to contact them.
