Man injured in street disturbance

A man is in hospital with stomach wounds following a disturbance in Birmingham city centre.

Police officers were called to Broad Street during the early hours following reports of disorder.

A group of up to six men were involved in the disorder, a spokeswoman said. Part of the road was closed off for investigations but has since reopened.

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of assault. The injured man's condition is described as stable.

Another man received injuries to his face.

Broad Street was closed between Oozel Street and Sheepcote Street for about four hours.
