Tributes after trampoline death

Corey Oakes was affectionate and fun loving, his family said.

A young boy who is thought to have died after suffering a cardiac arrest while playing on a trampoline was "beautiful and affectionate", his family said.

Three-year-old Corey Jack Oakes was on a trampoline when he was taken ill in West Heath, Birmingham, on Monday, the city's coroners office has said.

His family said they were devastated. "We will never stop loving and missing Corey," their statement said.

A post-mortem examination was held and further tests are awaited, police said.

The youngster died at the city's children's hospital on Monday morning, said West Midlands Ambulance Service which had sent paramedics to the incident.

An inquest will be opened on 23 July.
