Trampoline boy has cardiac arrest

A three-year-old boy died after suffering a cardiac arrest while playing on a trampoline in Birmingham, it has emerged.

The youngster died at the city's children's hospital on Monday morning, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

Paramedics were called to a house in West Heath, Birmingham, when the child stopped breathing.

The ambulance service said crews had tried to revive him without success. An inquest will be opened on 23 July.

The city's coroner's office said he had been playing on a trampoline when he fell ill.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said a post-mortem examination had been carried out but more tests were needed to establish the cause of the death.
